Getting your products photographed in July for the Christmas Season is a great idea! Planning ahead and preparing your content in advance can save you a lot of stress and ensure you have everything ready when the holiday season comes around.
Here are some steps to help you with the process:
Plan your product selection. Decide which products you want to feature in your Christmas promotions. Consider items that are relevant to the holiday season and likely to be popular gifts.
Create a shot list. Making a list of the different product shots you want for each item. You can include various angles, close-ups, and any specific holiday-themed setups you have in mind. I will do a variety of angles. If you have any inspiration ideas, please let me know. Props are also discussed with clients, and will be ready for the shoot.
Hire a photographer. Look for a professional photographer with experience in product photography. It's important to hire someone who understands your vision and can capture the essence of your products effectively. I work with you to get the photos that are on brand and the feeling you want for your business.
Coordinate with the photographer to determine a date and time frame for the photoshoot. You do not need to be local to my studio to work with me. I have clients located all throughout the U.S. send me products to photograph in my studio.
When prepping products to send ensure all products are clean, well-packaged, and ready to be featured. Straight labels, labels that are not torn, and no marks on products are important.
Work with the photographer to be sure the shots are aligning with your vision. This is a discussion I have with my clients before shoots and while the shoot is going on we communicate via text, email or phone to be sure you are getting the right vision for your brand.
Once the shoot is complete, I will edit your photos and deliver them to you via a photo delivery software. You will then download and be able to use your photos for marketing purposes.
Creating a system to have your photos stored and organized for easy content planning when the holidays arrive is a must. No one wants to be stuck searching at the last minute for the image needed.
Plan your Christmas content. Now that you have the photos you can create individual product features, gift guides, or themed holiday posts.
Since you're preparing the content in July, schedule posts to go live closer to the Christmas season. This way, you can focus on other holiday preparations when the time comes.
